Paddle along the scenic Hija River, a breathtaking spot known since the days of the Ryukyu Kingdom. This relaxing kayak experience is perfect for everyone and offers a unique way to explore Okinawa’s nature and history.
Surrounded by lush mangroves—home to diverse wildlife—enjoy a peaceful escape into a subtropical paradise. A small adventure as you explore the beautiful Hija River.
Tours depart 5 times daily, regardless of the tide.

【Mangrove Kayak – 4 Daytime Tours】
The Hija River has the largest watershed area on Okinawa’s main island. Its lower reaches are lined with dense mangrove forests, home to a wide variety of wildlife.
Paddle at your own pace along calm waters and enjoy views rarely seen from the river’s surface. Observe unique subtropical plants and animals in their natural habitat on this peaceful eco-tour.
【Sunset + Night Kayak – 1 Tour】
Paddle toward the meeting point of river and sea just before sunset and watch the sun dip into the East China Sea.
Drifting gently on your kayak as the sky and ocean turn brilliant shades of orange is an unforgettable experience. Enjoy the magical transition from sunset to nightfall.

Follow the road along the river straight to the end — the Nature Experience Center is located at the very end of the road.

Important Information

At the time of booking, please provide the representative’s full name, mobile phone number, number of participants, preferred course, preferred date and time, and shoe size for all participants.

Your lower body may get slightly wet. Please wear clothes you do not mind getting wet.

Please bring a small towel and a hat.

Bring a change of clothes, beach sandals, and sunscreen if needed.

Please arrive dressed and ready for kayaking. If necessary, you may change after the tour.

The schedule may be changed or canceled depending on weather and tide conditions.

During the night kayak tour (mid-May to mid-November), you may be able to see fireflies.

Dogs are welcome (¥3,000 per pet / advance reservation required).
Life jackets for dogs are not provided, so please bring your own if needed. -
